Seriously. Arcsecond V5 is too complicated.

I see powerful features, and ambition to cover the complete lifecycle of astronomical observations.
But some (many?) of my users see a gigantic pile of things they don’t necessarily have any usage.
Many of these pages were built and added for the V5 (the major version where Arcsecond transitionned from a “bunch of related tools” to the consistency of a “platform”). The overall idea behind V5 was to handle in a consistent way the large number of different resources and their relationships.
It succeeded, somehow, since now we have all these entry points in the menus that give access to all the different resources.
But they need to be better organised and displayed in a simpler way. And more importantly, in a more meaningful way.
It’s time to think about V6. Another redesign, for the better (and for the coming features).
In the meantime, I will remove some of the noisy items in the menus.
