Say you have an observing night ongoing. And say you want to easily follow the passing of time of the night, along with the airmass/altitude curves of the targets you selected for the night.

Easy! Just enable “Time Locking” with the “Now Line”. Here are the simple steps to do it.

  1. Open your explorer.
  1. Open the night settings, by clicking the small gear, at the bottom left of the night.
  1. Select “Draw ‘Now’ Vertical Line” and “Show Time Locking Button”.
  1. You should have now a vertical red cursor across the night showing “now” (in the screenshot, that the beginning of the night). And a “Play” button also appeared in the night settings bar.
  1. Click on the Play button! It will maintain the “Now line” in the center of the view.

Et voilà! Simply keep the window open.

P.S. This is even better when you adjust the window width with the associated slider.
